Smoothie Recipe For Busy Dancers

Posted by Amy Louise Dance Sales Team on

Wakeup, stretch, school, homework, dance, dinner, bed repeat!

We know the daily dancers struggles, having little time and as a result it's often food on the run. That's the reality for many dancers, dance parents and teachers within our community, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

But just because you're eating on the run doesn't mean it has to be unhealthy.  In fact there are lots of things that you can make (ahead of time even) that will keep you and your dancer healthy even on the run.

Here is our favourite Smoothie recipe.  Smoothies are great because you can freeze them ahead of time and then just wizz them up before pick up.  They are nutritious and will help your dancer get through a long night of dance before dinner.

This recipe is adapted from the 'Lunchbox Revolution' available online and at all good health food stores.

Smoothies are perfect for breakfast, afternoon or anywhere in between.

Try this delicious Chocolate version when you next need a 'pick me up'

250ml Coconut Water

1/2 tablespoon Raw Cacao

1 frozen banana (peel and freeze ripe bananas for an icy texture)

1 tablespoon fibre blend (LSA, Slipery Elm, Muesli mix etc)

1 tablespoon plain Greek Yogurt

1 tablespoon Chia Seeds

1 tablespoon Protein Powder (stick to a quality Pea Protein from your health food store)

Replace the cacao with any other berries or mango for a delicious fruit smoothie.

Enjoy
